Coming Up Soon….

Avanti Glass Studio has two new lines of tableware, available August 15th:

Vetro Nuevo - Luxe Tableware : Reclaimed, Recycled Glass

These luscious square serving trays are made from reclaimed shelf/window glass. This type of glass can not be recycled. Not here, anyway. So it has to go into a landfill. This is a way to reclaim it, to make something luxurious. The trays and dishes are edged with 22k gold, which is fired on in the kiln.

Bella! Table Jewellery - Bejewelled napkin rings

So pretty and sparkly! Using the pressed beads that are part of this studio’s production line, the beads are assembled with gold-colored wirework. I’ve been asked to make this line into bracelets, can you believe it? Maybe I will….

Hot Summer Sale!

THIS is fabulous! Three of Hillcroft Design’s collections are on sale at 30% off until August 15th.

  • The South Seas Collection is mostly pearls: freshwater pearls, rosebud pearls, bronzed and multi-hued pastel pearls, biwa pearls, and the big round “seashell pearls” in both black and white.
  • The Elements Collection represents Fire, Air, Earth and Water: semi-precious gems like Blue Topaz, Tourmaline, Hessonite Garnets, Rock Crystal Quartz and Green Turquoise.
  • The Tribal Collection is quite incredible, you’ll have to check it out! Each piece has a story with it.

Incredible value, stunning jewellery, and every piece has the Artisan’s Mark…. a special engraved silver or gold tag with the Hillcrest Design logo. I love this jewellery, and so will you!

Visiting Salt Spring?

Avanti Glass Studio is # 13 on the 2007 Salt Spring Island Studio Tour. It is one of the higher-end studio/galleries on the island, with a great selection of fused glassware for home decor, samples of leaded and copper-foiled glass and fused glass tiles, and lots and lots of glass jewellery. And there’s more…… just for fun, handmade-on-the-torch glass leaves in blended colors, great for small gifts or decorations, and beads, lots of beads. Avanti is near the Vesuvius Bay ferry landing, on the northwest side of the island. Once you’ve been to Salt Spring Island, you’ll want to come back. And then you’ll want to stay. It’s one of the most beautiful places in Canada.
